Matthew Angell

Associate

Matthew is currently an associate within Stephenson Harwood's IP practice. Matthew has experience across a broad range of commercial, technology and data protection matters, as well as both transactional and contentious IP matters. He also has particular experience advising on various elements of art and art-related law issues following a secondment with a notable museums authority based in the Middle East.

Matthew's experience in commercial matters includes working on a number of service agreements across the technology, life sciences and art sectors. His recent work includes advising a client on their arrangements with a new IT supplier for an online ticketing platform, and advising another client on an agreement with an online payment platform provider.

Matthew also has experience on data protection matters including developing bespoke data protection policies, privacy notices and intra-group data transfer agreements for a number of clients.

Matthew has experience of both transactional and contentious IP, including working on licensing agreements in the life sciences sector and across a number of trade mark disputes. He has also contributed to various publications during his time with Stephenson Harwood with recent contributions including an article, and related presentation, on IP issues in AI art and the firm's monthly data protection updates.
